SandTrac™ with Totalizer™

Over 90% of the widebelt sanders in the woodworking industry are improperly set-up, operated and maintained. It’s costing you money and having a negative affect on product quality.
The most common problem on the shop floor is improper utilization of the full width of the sanding belt. This results in shortened belt life, loading, streaking and burning. It also accelerates machine wear.
The SandTrac™ with Totalizer™ from Carter Products helps put an end to these sanding problems.
In simplest terms, SandTrac™ monitors operator input and outputs a real-time LED graph reflecting belt usage patterns directly on the front of the machine. The graph indicates where abrasive belt wear is the greatest, prompting the operator to utilize other sections of the widebelt. This evens out belt use; reducing belt changes, downtime, and overall abrasive costs. The graph also provides supervisory personnel with an immediate compliance and performance indicator.
In addition to the standard monitoring, the SandTrac™ software features an archiving function known as the Totalizer™. The Totalizer™ allows the user to set any number of variables (depending on system resources) to track wear in real time on the SandTrac™ system. These variables can be as short as shift based and as long as machine life based. Each variable is tracked via linear footage processed and time. Users can track individual belt usage, planer heads, platens, head life or any other desired function. User based alarms can also be set to notify operators of upcoming belt changes or any function that needs a warning indicator.
